9th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry
"Die Neuners"

ABOUT US

We are a new & growing Ohio-based reenactment group of “Progressive” re-enactors meaning we’re constantly working together to improve some aspect of what we do. We go to many mainstream reenactments - with additional campaign events, live-fire shoots, schools-of-the-soldier and/or living history events as determined by the members. About one event per month March-October with a business meeting each December. Events are often in the Ohio region but as the 150th anniversary comes along we’ll travel to the large anniversary events out east.  To save money we could car-pool. We’re interested in doing this economically which sometimes means making things for ourselves.

The unit formed to provide enjoyable opportunities for members to learn-by-doing & in turn teach others. We
work hard and play hard – We drill, march, “fight”, cook and camp-out. Die Neuners were a very close-knit unit and we intend to be that way too.

OUR IMPRESSION
Usually portray the period Oct 1863 (Chickamauga, TN) – Jun 1864 (Resaca, GA). Our standard uniform and equipment are of the western-theatre Union infantryman, but adjust our impression to fit the time frame and theatre in which the battle falls into. Both Model 1861 Springfield or P-1853 Enfield are documented.
